Janet Wayte's use of color, texture and shape often evokes an imagery of architectural and urban motifs. By combining and layering various mediums, she brings about a sense of history and discovery through her process oriented technique.
While not limiting herself to the urban references, she draws upon her travels to expose other imagery in her work. One can also find a sense of primitive influence in her mark making. This combined with her spontaneous gestural approach to the surface introduces another dimension to her work.
Her work can be found in numerous private collections, as well as, corporate public collections.
Janet is now working in her studio in Den Haag, Netherlands .
